Kind Words About Erin’s Work
“First and foremost, let’s pour one out for After Midnight. I’ve already written at length about what the show brought to the late-night ecosystem — namely, a British-style panel hang. But now that it’s really over, I’m getting mad all over again. The show was so good! So many people got to be on TV who otherwise wouldn’t get a network platform for their nonsense.”

“The second season was also radical in its approach to guests - who usually come into Late Night shows to promote themselves or their cultural products. This time, Singh brought in guests who debuted on Late Night, like Alok Vaid-Menon, the incredibly articulate gender non-conforming performance artist and writer, or "off-season" guests like Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, who debuted with Never Have I Ever, now up for a second season. As Singh noted in her last monologue before she bade farewell, 21 of the 80 episodes of the second season had someone making their Late Night debut. That is no small feat."

“Every time Chris Fleming is on After Midnight, he does a little play. This is a great use of the show’s time, of the viewer’s time, and of Fleming’s time. For this installment, the conceit was Fleming performing a Stomp-esque show using Taylor Tomlinson’s jokes as the rhythmic element. Lisa Gilroy wore a mustache and it all made total sense, I promise. The point of a show like After Midnight is to introduce America to as many quirky little guys (gender-neutral term) as possible in order to get those little guys’ booking fees up sky-high. It’s a showcase, and truly, thank you, CBS, for letting Fleming shine on your shiny-floor TV show.”

“Tomlinson brings an easy confidence to “After Midnight,” and at its best, it feels like hanging out with a group of very funny friends.”

“Erin is unflappable, discreet, smart, funny, and a real team player.”
